October 2026 Options Income Report
October was one of my strongest options-trading months to date.
Through a combination of cash-secured puts, covered calls, and disciplined trade management, I generated more than $4,400 in realized option profits while maintaining a 96.7% winning percentage across completed trade groups.
While premium collection often gets the attention, I focus on what ultimately matters:
Realized profits from closed positions.
That approach helps eliminate the noise from open positions and provides a clearer view of actual portfolio performance.

Not every winning trade has to be spectacular.
Small gains matter.
Consistently banking gains often beats swinging for home runs.
The Only Losing Trade
Why October Was Successful
Several factors contributed to a strong month.
1. Early Profit Taking
Many positions were closed before expiration after most of the premium had been captured.
This reduced risk while locking in gains.
2. Time Decay Worked
Theta remained the primary driver of profitability.
Most gains came from option premium erosion rather than large directional stock moves.
3. Position Sizing Stayed Controlled
No individual trade had the ability to dramatically damage the portfolio.
This allowed profits to compound steadily throughout the month.
4. Diversification Across Positions
Profits came from multiple underlying securities:
- ARM
- MRVL
- ASTX
- APP
- SOXL
- RDDT
- SPY
This reduced dependence on any single trade outcome.
Open Positions Still Working
Not all October premiums have been realized.
Several positions remain open.
Examples include:
- SOXL $61 Put
- UNH Long Call
Because these trades remain active, their unrealized value is excluded from October's realized profit totals.
This keeps the reporting conservative and transparent.
October Audit Status
The October ledger successfully reconciles, but several items remain under review.
Outstanding Validation Items
- Five pairs of nearly identical fills should be verified with order IDs.
- A SOXL $140 put contract should be confirmed against original trade records.
- Certain open positions remain active at month-end.
- Roth IRA option records are not yet complete.
Based on the current transaction ledger, however, the $4,214.14 realized profit figure is fully supported.
Key Lessons From October
Focus on Realized Gains
Open premium is not profit.
Closed trades are what matter.
Small Winners Add Up
Every profitable trade contributes to overall portfolio growth.
High Win Rates Are Nice, But Not the Goal
Risk-adjusted returns matter far more than maintaining a perfect record.
Options Can Accelerate Portfolio Income
When combined with disciplined risk management, cash-secured puts and covered calls can generate meaningful monthly cash flow.
Looking Ahead
My focus remains unchanged:
✅ Sell cash-secured puts on stocks I'd be happy to own.
✅ Use covered calls to generate additional income.
✅ Take profits early when the risk/reward becomes unfavorable.
✅ Continue simplifying the portfolio.
✅ Separate dividend reporting and options reporting beginning in 2027.
October serves as another example of how a rules-based options strategy can generate consistent income while maintaining capital discipline.
Final Thoughts
October 2026 delivered one of the strongest option-income months of my investing journey.

💰 $261 Roth IRA Profit
💰 $4,475.14 Combined Profit
📈 96.7% Win Rate

While not every month will look like October, the goal remains the same:
Generate repeatable income through disciplined options trading while continuing to build long-term wealth.
Risk Disclaimer
This article reflects my personal investing activity and is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Options trading involves substantial risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Past performance does not guarantee future results. A high win rate does not eliminate risk, and a small number of losing trades can offset many winners.
